Costs

Semester contribution

The university charges a fee per semester for the semester ticket and the student union fee. You can find the current amount of the fees here.

Tuition fees

No fees are currently charged at our university.

Monthly costs

You will need about 1.000 Euros per month to finance your living expenses. Of course, this amount is a guideline; the actual expenses depend on the amount of rent you pay and your consumer behaviour.

Composition of monthly costs:

Rent at least 400 Euros
Broadcasting fee approx. 20 Euros
Health insurance approx. 130 Euros
Food approx. 250 Euros
Clothing, study materials, other needs approx. 150 Euros

If you need a visa, you must already prove that your livelihood is secured in Germany when you apply for the visa in your home country.

Scholarships for degree-seeking students

  • You have to apply for scholarships.
  • Funding is only possible after studying at the University of Augsburg for at least two semesters (Master students: after one semester).

  • You can only apply if there’s an open scholarship announcement.
  • You can find open scholarship announcements on the Internet on the "News" page of the International Office

  • Scholarship announcements are also posted, e.g. at the scholarship office.

  • Submit the required documents in full.

  • Note the application deadline.

If you are unsure about the form of application, you can get advice at the International Office.

The f.au.st e.V. association can arrange help when gifted students (primarily from non-EU countries) are in (financial) need.
